Being ddosed at my home according to my isp. What to do from here?

My internet has been constantly going up and down in the last week so I called cox and they came over today. They showed me on the logs of my netgear login page (don’t really know what to call it) that I was being ddosed attack from another IP address. The guy basically said there’s nothing I can do and left. The issue still persists after he left and has been doing this for a full week.

I’m not sure how someone got my ip, I play a lot of games on my pc but most of it is League a game with only server connection not private. My mom is pretty tech illiterate so I’m worried she might fallen for some malware or scam and caused this.

I’m kind of lost if there’s anyway I can defend my internet. I was thinking about asking to replace my ip but not sure if that’s the right call or if it would even help.

Any help would be appreciated
