How technical is SSCP

Just trying to get a feel for how likely I am to be an appropriate candidate for SSCP, as it's on offer at my workplace. I've got 7 or 8 years experience as a security governance and risk person, but I lack hands on experience of operating security tools. My operational experience is limited to things like IDAM process, policy application and interpretation, and answering queries in a security office in an IT department. Am I likely to struggle with SSCP or would this be valuable training for me compared to something like CISM? I'm keen to do training that will actually teach me new things as opposed to just put a stamp on knowledge I already have
