How are behind router devices seen publicly?

I was reading basic Networking stuff out of curiosity when I understood how NAT works. Then I saw a video about websites like Shodan that can find devices behind my router.

I'm curious as to how my devices (with open ports) behind my router, who is suppling my public IP with what I'm inferring has one IP/port range, are appearing on WAN/Internet scanners.
