Segregation within network adapters

As my title, is it possible to perform network segregation on two different network adapters e.g. 1. LAN connected to internal network 2. WiFi connected to internet

I would like to have my VM connected to the internal network and have my host machine to connect to the internet. Currently what I have done is disabling ipv4 and ipv6 in my host LAN adapter and currently it works fine. My host is unable to detect the LAN adapter and the traffic from my VM is able to reach the internal network.

Is this is correct way to segregate these two? Or is there a better way to do so ? Appreciate your feedback and input.
