Offered a security engineer position with a background as a software dev

So I have about 2 years of experience as a backend software dev with some DevOps experience. I expressed an interest in learning about security and was offered a job change within the company to a junior Security Engineer role, similar pay.

The job seems interesting to me. I'm a bit tired of software development and have always been curious about the world of security, but I have little experience.

Here are my questions:

  • What's the job market like in comparison with software dev?

  • This is probably company dependent, but is security engineering a more demanding job than being a software dev?

  • I'm not interested in getting a high level security clearance for reasons, is that something that would greatly inhibit my career growth?

  • Is remote work common?

I appreciate any advice I can get before making my decision on this offer!
